Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 8,23-27

As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by waves; but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.
The men were amazed and said, “What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?”

Jesus was Sleeping …

1) He was Sleeping: There are moments in life when God seems to be asleep:  when we do not get the goal, when everything seems to be going against us or when we ask God for help, but He does not seem to respond. In those moments, when we feel like we are in the middle of the sea and do not know where to row, God seems silent. While we are in this silence, we do not know what to do, or where to turn.

2) Wake Him up: During these times when God does not seem to respond to us, we may fall into despair and feel alone. Insist like the apostles did, go and wake Him up. Do not fall asleep. Pray to Him. Cry out to Him in prayer and supplication. Appeal to Him with sacrifice. Let God hear you.

3) Peace: When God is within you, a sense of peace settles in. Do not lose this sense of peace for anyone or anything. Always seek it in your life. It is in this state of peace that God invites you to live. Everyone should want this interior calm. Therefore, do not stop seeking it and ask God to help you keep it.
