Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 9,28b-36.
Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.
While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.
And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah,
who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.
Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” But he did not know what he was saying.
While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.
Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”
After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time tell anyone what they had seen.
To be Transfigured
1) In prayer: If there is something we always find in Luke, the evangelists is that when Jesus has to make a decision or in most important moments, Jesus prays; He speaks with God and puts his reality before his Father God. This is what is proposed to you today: that you write or speak with God; that you can think about your reality and be able to say to Jesus what goes through your mind and your heart. That you can expose to God an analysis of your reality without fear and without prejudice, because, in order to be helped, without any excuses you should say “Lord: this is my reality, this is what I am”. Talk to God and tell Him everything. Let’s not turn prayer into just requests or thanks, this is also a part of praying. But this today I
suggest to speak with God and tell all your reality.
2) Moses and Elijah: There is a law which you must respect and which you must also remember, that is “God’s will does not go against your happiness, it is a step towards it”; your walk towards the happiness that God puts in front of you is also marked by limits, it is like pruning the plants so that a new and beautiful stem and fruit come out. That law is imprinted in your heart and you must listen to before every decision. But also, remember that your life is a prophecy for others and you are a prophet of the new millennium, not a prophet who preaches in the squares with the Biible under his arm. You are a prophet who touches hearts with your testimony and example, in that personal, fraternal and close encounter. Today you are called to be a hero in this life.
3) Tents: You are told not to forget that your life points to eternity. That you and I will go through passion and cross, but the key of everything is heaven. Give your all to achieve this, and when your cross comes your way remember we already know the end and that is heaven.
God bless you and be with you, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
…and do not forget: Heaven is Our Goal!
