Luke 11,42-46

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano
Luke 11, 42-46

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11,42-46.

The Lord said: “Woe to you Pharisees! You pay tithes of mint and of rue and of every garden herb, but you pay no attention to judgment and to love for God. These you should have done, without overlooking the others.
Woe to you Pharisees! You love the seat of honor in synagogues and greetings in marketplaces.
Woe to you! You are like unseen graves over which people unknowingly walk.”
Then one of the scholars of the law said to him in reply, “Teacher, by saying this you are insulting us too.”
And he said, “Woe also to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them.”

Woe to you!

1) Taxes: We should really examine ourselves about this situation in which we put God into our trade. We can’t be merchants of faith nor use God for personal gain, and I’m not referring only to the economic aspect; this might happen in many aspects of life. We can’t play with God.

2) Occupy: we shouldn’t try to show off, believing yourself to be the best in Church, it is not correct. Your life should be humble, and you should not go around rubbing it in that you’re the best or boasting what you are and what you do.

3) Impose: Christians cannot go around imposing things on others, we cannot make religion a burden on others. We Catholics are a family, not a regiment. Let’s ask Jesus to help us love and not mistreat others.

Come on! Don’t give up! Remember Heaven is our goal! God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
