Luke 1,57-66

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 1,57-66

When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child she gave birth to a son.
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.
When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child, they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,
but his mother said in reply, “No. He will be called John.”
But they answered her, “There is no one among your relatives who has this name.”
So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called.
He asked for a tablet and wrote, “John is his name,” and all were amazed.
Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God.
Then fear came upon all their neighbors, and all these matters were discussed throughout the hill country of Judea.
All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, “What, then, will this child be?” For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.

Time has come

1. We are happy for her. We observe how the community is joyful because God is working and doing good for everyone. Today we must be happy like a community for our sake and the sake of others, rivalry and competition cannot live within us. There is no harder scene to witness that 2 brothers in our community fighting for money or jobs or recognition. Today we must make a purification that allows us to be happy to witness the progress of others. Are you jealous of others? Don´t be.
   
2. The name: it is something important and through baptism it is important to take a few moments to ask the name. It is what gives you an identity and shows everyone that who you are, someone planned and thought of. You are a part of God and are unique. Look within recognize yourself and accept what you have and what you are.
   
3. Praise God. How wonderful it is to praise God when one sees His Hand and how He acts. Since we are good at asking God´s help, it is also important to praise constantly. God is extremely generous after all.
