Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16:16-20
Jesus said to his disciples:”A little while and you will no longer see me, and again a little while later and you will see me.”So some of his disciples said to one another,”What does this mean that he is saying to us,’A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me,’and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”So they said, “What is this ‘little while’ of which he speaks? We do not know what he means.”Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them,”Are you discussing with one another what I said,’A little while and you will not see me,and again a little while and you will see me’?Amen, amen, I say to you,you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices;you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”
In the spiritual process of our life there are times when sadness seems to take over and it manifests itself like this
1) Insecurity. I’m referring to insecurity coupled with mistrust. You don’t even know where you’re going, you have the impression that you’ve missed a step, you feel God abandoned you… This is when you can’t find your footing; your center in life. This insecurity leads you to question everything.
2) Questioning. You begin to question the past and the future. And at the same time, you start to repent. What did I do that for? Why did I become a priest? What did I get into this group for? You start asking yourself, “what for?” and you feel like you did everything wrong. It seems that life was much better before.
3) This leads you to forget about the good moments. Fear leads you to think only about negative things and worry about what might happen in the future. Today, God tells you that you will go through moments of sadness and despair, but He will be with you. God is always with you and knowing this, should cheer you up. Repeat with me: “God is with me and something better will come to me.” Shall we repeat it again ?
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Remember: God is with you, and something great is about to happen in your life!
