Matthew 12,46-50

Matthew 12 46-50

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 12,46-50

While Jesus was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers appeared outside, wishing to speak with him.
Someone told him, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, asking to speak with you.”
But he said in reply to the one who told him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”
And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

My brethren

1) They are looking for you. Being a true Christian does not mean being perfect, nor does it mean never making mistakes in life. A Christian is someone who has met Jesus Christ and who has changed his or her life. And when this happens to you, you immediately start the process of getting to know Him, of experiencing life with Him. You start the process of looking for Him and having a conversation with Him. If you already knew Him, you restart and restore the relationship you used to have with Him. Go back to talking to Him daily. Come out of your shell and look for Him, leave aside the many worries and responsibilities that haunt you, and take the time to find the Lord again.

2) My brethren. Meeting the Lord and talking to Him every day leads you to take a step further: to seek to fulfill God’s will. We are a Church that walks as a community; as a family. We have made many mistakes and we have opened up deep wounds in society, but we take responsibility for them. You and I have to acknowledge that we are one and that we walk together. Your contribution to society is to be yourself; who you truly are, and look for who God wants you to be. But the point here is whether it is clear to you what God wants from you.

3) His will. This process of discernment is a path that is not simply walked along; it involves proceeding slowly: LISTENING TO what God asks of you (just as Mary did); that’s why we need silence and prayer; ACCEPTING what God asks of you (as Mary did); and RELYING ON HIS STRENGTH (as Mary did), asking God for help, and trusting Him.
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t forget that Heaven is our goal!

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
