Matthew 13,47-53

Matthew 13 47-53

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 13,47-53

Jesus said to the disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind.
When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away.
Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous
and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
Do you understand all these things? They answered, “Yes.”
And he replied, “Then every scribe who has been instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.”
When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there.

The good aspects of the bad

1) They got together: It is important to take the time to observe your life; decide what you have to leave behind and what other aspects you should keep and cherish. There are things in your life that you drag along; but in reality they are dragging you down and they are not allowing you to be happy. There are material things that were useful, but today are no longer useful: scrap. Things can hinder your thinking and your relationships with others. You keep things that are not useful anymore and do not bring positive things in your life. There are people in your life that also can hinder your life. Sometimes you have damaging relationships that you are unable to put to an end. But also, you must maintain the relationships that bring light to your life and these are the ones to keep and help grow.

2) The bad: the things that bring you down, not only people but situations. Often times we must ask ourselves what does this person bring to my life? You must examine your life carefully to analyze what you should keep in your life. Often you obsess with unnecessary things or vices that you can do without. These obsessions can overshadow and hide our true self. We must be careful not to let them overcome our lives.

3) The good: These are the positive aspects that cheer you on, remind you of who you really are, and fulfill you. The “good” helps us move forward on the path God has planned for us. Although it is clear there will always be obstacles to confront; nothing is easy and these challenges help us grow. We all need to complement our lifes with things that makes us happy. Take a step back and look at what you want, where you want to go, and how you will live your journey. After this reflection, look at what hurts you and what does not help you find God’s will for your life. Discover how to be a better human being. God is always your companion, so ask for His help to identify the good and the bad. God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
