Luke 18 1-8

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 18,1-8

Jesus told his disciples a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said,
“There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being.
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being,
because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.'”
The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them?
I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Faith is health

1) A Judge: In this figure I imagine a haughty, proud person . He does not care about religion; he believes that he has God in his pocket and he loves to control everything. Of course, he is motivated by his success, and driven by his failures. He is that person who is always saying: “better alone than in bad company”… because the only company in his life is a mirror; a reflection of himself. It is easier for snow to fall in December, here, in Tucumán, Argentina, than to get him to smile. We must be careful; you and I might be like this …

2) The widow: She is the opposite of that judge. She is a woman who trusts in God, and does everything in her power to appeal her case. Understand that in life there is a 50 and 50 relationship. Life needs a bit from you and another bit from God. She discovers that insistence, and persistence gives results. As the famous Argentine saying goes: “he who does not cry, does not eat.” How is your prayer today? Are you praying?

3) Faith: Faith is a gift, it is not something we create. One time a friend told me that her children had atheist friends. It worried her … but, it must be taught that faith is a gift… and if someone seeks faith it is necessary to accompany them in their search. Faith is proposed and not imposed; you must ask for faith; you cannot buy it. Faith is the most beautiful thing that has ever touched me, because it is my motivation to continue this life day by day.
God-bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember heaven is our goal!
