Matthew 6,7-15

Matthew 6-7-15

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6,7-15

Jesus said to his disciples:
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”

God as your father

1) Exhibit: Religion is not measured by how many rosaries you have around your neck, nor by how many groups you belong to. Your life is measured by how much good you do and by how much love you put into the things you do, starting with silence and humility. Do not reduce your faith to appearances or showing off all the time in the things of God. This is not the way to truly show your faith.

2) Our prayer: Here, Jesus shows you that praying is having a loving relationship with God, where you can express yourself with Him in a simple, clear, and humble way. Seek this relationship with your Father God, try to relate to Him in this time of Lent, maintain that dialogue and keep it present every day and in your life. Feel that he is your companion on the journey not something strange or unconnected to you.

3) Forgiveness: It is difficult to forgive. To forgive, first you must follow a process of prayer and introspection. It is never easy to forgive. To forgive from the heart, one needs to work on the heart. Add to your prayer that which you must work on to be able to forgive and, together with a heart filled with peace (that comes from prayer), you will find forgiveness. Forgiveness and prayer are two sides of the same coin. I will repeat: it is never easy to forgive, to forgive from the heart, we need to work on our heart.

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Heaven is our goal!
