Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 12,20-33
Now there were some Greeks among those who had come up to worship at the feast.
They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”
Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.
Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.
Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life.
Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me.”
I am troubled now. Yet what should I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But it was for this purpose that I came to this hour.
Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it and will glorify it again.”
The crowd there heard it and said it was thunder; but others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”
Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come for my sake but for yours.
Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out.
And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”
He said this indicating the kind of death he would die.
We want to see Jesus
1) We want: this is what moves and pushes the search for God. “He who wants, can”, today say to yourself, “I want to see Jesus” “I want to see you, Jesus”; look for him because He is available, ask for help if needed, but do not stop looking for him because he is there and if you want, you will achieve everything with his help. You will be able to see him because he loves you infinitely. Because where there is a will, there is a way.
2) They went to tell him: this is the attitude of the Christian, to pray for the those who seek God. It is our job as Christians to help others encounter Jesus. It is your task and mine to pray for those who want to meet Jesus and have not been able to yet. You who have met Jesus, need to help lead others to meet Him. Be the means that lead to these encounters and not the traffic policeman on the road to heaven who asks for documentation and sets requirements. Download a change and help others find Him, do not complicate that encounter with Jesus of the brother who seeks Him.
3) Dying to give life: this that we are called for, to set aside our personal likings in order for others to find Life, not whims but life. You have to give that touch of love to this society that measures a lot, it is to offer forgiveness and love to the one who is beside you. Forgiving and loving implies dying and fighting. Do not stop fighting for love, for whoever loves is willing to take risks and love until death.
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And always remember, Heaven is our goal!
