John 3:16-21

John 3:16-21

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3:16-21

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

God loved the world so much

1) He Gave: this is the point of someone who loves. To win you have to lose. In the life of every human being, one must give up something in order to win. Losing is hard. Giving up something or someone to achieve something greater is complex and painful, but whoever achieves it gains something greater. That is why God gave his Son. By “losing” his Son, a greater good came; that is our Salvation, through and with his Son. Today, think of this: what do you have to give up for something better and greater? Perhaps today you have to renounce that toxic relationship, where there is an “apparent reality”, in order to grow as a person and obtain something new. Dare to lose but keep thinking that you are going to win.

2) Save: God reminds you that He came to save you. Sometimes religion is reduced to a certain court of conviction. Religion comes from a Latin word: “re-link.” It is what helps you to return to God who is in your life; to help you reconnect with Him and with yourself.
The catechism is divided into 4 parts: what we Believe, how we Celebrate, our Morals, and Prayer. These work together to link us to God.

3) Light: you are called to illuminate. This is a process: I must first have light in order to give light. It is time to grow in it; to be light and to live in the truth. Live in reality and truth, even if it’s hard. It’s like when you go swimming; you are afraid at first because the water is freezing, but once you have entered, you must swim. The same happens in life. I lived in the truth even at a cost; painful at first, but then as you continue, the cost is preferable to being anesthetized by the “lie” that only delays your collapse.

God-bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !
