Luke 24,35-48

Luke-24-35-48

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke Luke 24,35-48

The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place along the way, and how Jesus was made known to them in the breaking of bread.
While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.”
And as he said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed, he asked them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
They gave him a piece of baked fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures.
And he said to them, “Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day
and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things.”

Joy and admiration

1) Peace be with you: the Risen One invites us to peace. Today you are reminded that you must direct your path towards peace. Strive for peace in your heart that you can obtain in the spiritual. By taking care of your spirituality and maintaining that presence of God by being present IN God, you will achieve peace. Here a certain trilogy appears: he who has Peace has Hope, and he who has Hope is lead to Prayer, and Prayer leads you to Peace. It is cyclical. Do you take time to pray?

2) It is I : doubts arose in their hearts… Today our faith is also failing in the face of the reality that we are living in. It is difficult for us to see the hand of God in all of this. Today God’s hand may not be outside us in extraordinary things. God’s hand is probably right inside your home, very close to you. Look for God in your relationships and daily activities.

3) They gave Him food: Jesus ate with the disciples to show them that He was real. Today you have to live in reality and do concrete things. Yes, today… it’s not about waiting for the quarantine to be over. Today you have a lot to do for yourself and for others. This implies having a good attitude. Keep a good attitude towards life and be patient with yourself. A Christian is seen and known by the concrete things they do. Actions speak louder than words.
God-bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember heaven is our goal!
