Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 8,18-22.
When Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side.
A scribe approached and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
Jesus answered him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.”
Another of (his) disciples said to him, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.”
But Jesus answered him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.”
Monitoring
1) Freedom: God does not force anything on anyone, but rather invites you and promises you your fulfillment. If you follow him, it is because you want to. What God wants is for you to be more yourself as being yourself will lead you to follow Jesus from that calling and that charisma that God himself gave to you so that you can give everything in service to those who are close to you.
2) Leave: We must learn to free ourselves from what binds us and does not permit us to be ourselves. It is those things that lead you to death within you and that are usually a product of your imagination. They are not real things, but rather products of your mind: the fear that others will get angry, that you will look bad, that you will not fill the expectations of others, etc. Learn to let go of what takes you away from God and learn to be more yourself.
3) Do not recline: Your life is a walk and you have a lot to discover and people yet to meet. Do not get stuck in any situation, person or thing. But how do I know where I am at? I leave you some aspects to meditate on:
- Have I discovered the charisma that God gave me to give to others?
- Am I fully myself or am I what others want me to be?
- Have I made someone happy and how did I do it?
