Matthew 10,7–15

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10, 7-15

As you go, proclaim the good news, “The kingdom of heaven has come near.” Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment. Take no gold, or silver, or copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, or two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for labourers deserve their food. Whatever town or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house, greet it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town. Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgement than for that town.

Proclaim!

1) Announce: You are invited to go out and announce the Kingdom of God. You may think that you are not worthy enough, that you are just a lay person; but you are worthy by your baptism. Your whole life should be leading others to Christ; announcing that the Kingdom is here, and Heaven is the goal.

2) Heal: Your life should be a light for others. Don’t stop bringing Jesus to those around you. Bring love and healing, not conflict and gossip. Your life involves healing others, don’t fight what Jesus has entrusted you to do, because your life is a blessing to others.

3) Cleanse: How many people today have internal conflicts and infected souls with things that do not come from God? You have to cleanse your soul from everything that does not come from God. Your presence and prayer can free others from their internal conflicts. Free those around you; heal them, purify them with your sacrifice and prayer.
God bless you in the name of The Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
…and do not forget: Heaven is Our Goal!
