Saint Luke 6,39-42

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 6,39-42

Jesus told his disciples a parable : “Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit?
No disciple is superior to the teacher; but when fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher.
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?
How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,’ when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye.”

Some Beatitudes

I would like to show you some beatitudes which I believe can be useful:

  1. Joy: Blessed are those who know how to laugh at themselves, because they will never stop having fun.
Blessed are those who know the difference between a mountain and a pebble, because they will avoid many inconveniences.
Blessed are those who are attentive to the needs of others, without feeling they are indispensable, because they will be distributors of joy.
  2. Life: Blessed are those who know how to look seriously at small things and with a peace of mind at big things, because they will go far in life.
Blessed are those who know how to appreciate a smile and forget contempt, because their path will be full of sunshine.
  3. Peace: Blessed above all, if you know how to see the Lord in everyone you meet, then you will have found peace and true wisdom.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Always remember that Heaven is our goal.
