Matthew 4,18-22

Matthew 4,18-22-FB

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 4,18-22

As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers,
Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew,
casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.
He said to them,
“Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
At once they left their nets and followed him.
He walked along from there and saw two other brothers,
James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John.
They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets.
He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father
and followed him.

God calls you

1)  Jesus saw.  It is Jesus who calls you. It is not that you choose the path, but rather that God puts in your heart that little seed that makes you follow him and fall in love with him day by day.  Enjoying life with a closeness to God will allow the relationship and the seed to grow.

2)  Cast the nets. It is in the everyday that God appears, and you will find him in the simple things in life. There is no schedule for God. He always gives himself. We must learn that there is not a time for God and another for others, but with God at all times, to give oneself to others.

3)  Brothers and sisters. Following Jesus implies forming part of a community and spreading His word. The person who believes and follows God cannot live in isolation. The person that follows Jesus belongs to and participates in a community and in a family.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And remember, Heaven is our goal!
