Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according Saint Matthew 11, 11-15
Jesus said to the crowds:
“Amen, I say to you,
among those born of women
there has been none greater than John the Baptist;
yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
From the days of John the Baptist until now,
the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence,
and the violent are taking it by force.
All the prophets and the law prophesied up to the time of John.
And if you are willing to accept it,
he is Elijah, the one who is to come.
Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
To be great in small things
1. To be great. As Christians, we are called to live everyday life in greatness, and not as victims. We are players of life who want to play the best match. And each day we need to face life and know how to deal with everything that comes our way. To be great is to make an effort, to be great is to rise when one falls. To be great is to trust God and not our own strength.
2. The violent. In your life you will encounter people that will harm you, they will try to shatter your peace of mind. They will seek to hurt and destroy you. Today, Jesus reminds you of this. If you look at the history of Christianity, you will find that many Christians did not back down, and they knew how to overcome so much violence with peace of heart and God’s presence. If there are people in your life today who are violent towards you and want to bring out the worst in you, I recommend that you focus on your true identity and mission and show that God is in your heart. Don’t become what they want you to be, don’t let them turn you into a monster. Don’t respond violently, don’t lose your peace of mind.
3. Elijah. Today you must be that Elijah who shows the world that there is a God who sees and acts. Be that prophet who illuminates those around you. In this life you and I want two things: to be happy and to make this world a little better.
Always remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
