Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11, 29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
“This generation is an evil generation;
it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment
the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
and she will condemn them,
because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
and condemn it,
because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.”

1. More people gathered. Today many people are looking for God. In one way or another they seek relief for their lives in something supernatural. As Christians we don’t offer an ideology or a magic recipe, we present a living person, Jesus. There are times when we look for God in supernatural things and we get caught up in that; we look for a healing priest or we go to a place that is considered miraculous, we look for someone to interpret our dreams or for a miraculous image, among other things. But today Jesus shows us that He is with you in the simple things of life, in your everyday life. He shows you signs that He is at your side. Look for Him within yourself, in silence. Look for Him in your simple prayer, look for Him in your room, in your family, in your people, in the Sacraments. I can assure you that there is something much more extraordinary there, in the Sacraments, than in what you think is extraordinary.
2. Signs. Every day there are signs that show you the presence of God; in your daily life and in your life history there are signs that answer many questions that you may have. Ask God to make you see, to make you realize what God wants of you and for you, and where you are heading. Ask Him to open your eyes so that you may have clarity in your life. Slow down; in calmness try to see the signs that are in front of your eyes. Consider that these signs are the clues to make the right decisions to fulfil your life, to achieve your life plan, to find happiness.
3) Evil generation. I can’t tell you that everything is peace and quiet. No! I must also tell you that there is evil and people who are mean, but you shouldn’t get caught up in that, because you must go on like an athlete. An athlete’s aim is to reach the finishing line, even when he knows he is no longer the first, he still goes on to the finish. We must do the same thing; even if we fall or stumble or someone places obstacles in our way, we still keep going until the end. Keep going, even if others hurt you. Keep going because there are many who want to celebrate your arrival at the finish line with you.
