Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 16, 15-20

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,
they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them,
was taken up into heaven
and took his seat at the right hand of God.
But they went forth and preached everywhere,
while the Lord worked with them
and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

Proclaim the Good News

1. Go and proclaim. That’s the task of every baptized person: to take Jesus to others. We can’t remain entrenched in the same thing or keep going round and round in circles. We must spread joy and hope to so many people who are looking for Jesus. Go out and announce, you don’t need to be a priest or a nun to proclaim Jesus, it’s enough to be baptized and in love with life.

2. Share salvation. You and I have to spread salvation and peace. We cannot be like birds of ill omen who are constantly waiting for others to fail in order to point out their mistake or their sin! You and I have been saved so we must help to save others, we must announce the Good News.

3. To pick up serpents.  This is one of the signs Jesus mentions. It means being aware that God won’t ever let go of your hand. It’s a way of reminding you that God is always by your side and will never abandon you. So, don’t be afraid to take the risk of going out and preaching, giving your testimony, because God will always be by your side.

Never forget that something good is on the way.

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
