Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 3, 1-6

Jesus entered the synagogue.
There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched Jesus closely
to see if he would cure him on the sabbath
so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand,
“Come up here before us.”
Then he said to the Pharisees,
“Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”
But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger
and grieved at their hardness of heart,
Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel
with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

To do good

1. The synagogue. Jesus returns to that place of hypocrisy. He wants to show that the religious is not alien to human pain, so he tries to seek the conversion of people who believe they’ve been converted. I believe that it’s more difficult to change someone who feels he has already changed or someone who thinks he’s holy or pure, than a sinner who has accepted the reality of his sin. Jesus goes to the people in need and seeks them out persistently so that they may change. I always say that Jesus even called me to be a priest because it’s the only way I could save my soul.

2. Withered. How many of us are withered or paralyzed, unable to do anything in our lives. Sometimes we procrastinate, putting off decisions and actions until the last minute and sometimes not doing things at all. That paralyzes your life. The thing is that many times people don’t help you, they only watch you procrastinate. When your life comes to a standstill everything starts to move around you but you are no longer the protagonist of your own life.

3. Silent. There may be a lot of people around you who are silent just watching your life but not helping you. Some may be just waiting for you to fall and will only be satisfied when you do. But seek Jesus and He will certainly heal you and help you to go on. Don’t quit the battle and even if you are paralyzed, dare to start again and do things for yourself and your life.

Don’t forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
