Mark 3, 7-12

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 3, 7-12

Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known.

Called to heal and soothe

1. A need for God. People seek Jesus and follow Him, and there are no boundaries or limits in people’s attempts to get closer to Him. Today, we must keep searching for Jesus and all efforts in our lives should be given to Him. And we must also lead others to Him so that He may heal and soothe them.

2. To heal. Firstly, you seek the encounter with Jesus and the second step is letting Jesus heal you. Letting Jesus into your heart can heal many wounds and sufferings. There are many diseases, many ailments which need the presence of Jesus to be healed. Today, find Jesus in order to let Him heal you. But before, find Him in prayer, to talk and listen to Him.

3. Son of God. When Jesus is in your heart and when you are healed, you are truly a son of God. He heals you and you recognize yourself as His child, you find your true identity and you are aware of the abundance of his love. God reminds you that you are important and that you have a significant mission in life. This is the process you must go through: find God, be healed, find your identity, and identify yourself with Him. Where are you in the process? Can you see yourself in any of these stages?

Always remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
