Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 9, 51-56
When the days for Jesus to be taken up were fulfilled,
he resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem,
and he sent messengers ahead of him.
On the way they entered a Samaritan village
to prepare for his reception there,
but they would not welcome him
because the destination of his journey was Jerusalem.
When the disciples James and John saw this they asked,
“Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven
to consume them?”
Jesus turned and rebuked them,
and they journeyed to another village.
They did not welcome him
1. Time. It’s important to know that everything has its time. Every action has a purpose, and every step you take requires time. Anxiety can make you rush, keeping you from going through the necessary processes and seeing the changes in your life after you make decisions. Today, ask Jesus to help you see the changes and decisions you need to keep making. Life isn’t about constant change, but there are constant changes in your life, and those changes depend only on you.
2. He sent them. Being a missionary is a consequence of being a witness, not the other way around. This is why you can find people with degrees in theology, but if there’s no personal encounter with Jesus, everything is lost. Being sent means you have been chosen and being chosen means you are a witness. And being a witness is the result of having seen and lived a unique experience with Christ.
3. He rebuked them. Life is also defined by people who don’t like us and who push us away. You have to learn to have dignity and leave with your head held high. We can’t go through life begging for love. Remember that in this life, you have to accept what you can have and what you cannot.
Always remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
