Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21, 12-19
Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”
Give testimony!
1. Facing persecution. As a Christian, you must stand firm in your beliefs, even when confronted with difficult situations or when others try to make you feel foolish. This happens sometimes on social media, when others try to make you feel ridiculous. Living with Christ means you may encounter challenges, sometimes even from your closest family and friends who question your faith. Don’t be afraid—God is always by your side.
2. Wisdom. It’s important not to neglect your prayer, your conversations with Jesus. Through prayer, you develop wisdom and a deeper relationship with God, which helps you find answers and the strength to face whatever comes your way. Prayer strengthens your soul and helps you grow. Keep praying, especially in tough times— that’s when you need prayers the most. Prayer is where you’ll discover wisdom and peace.
3. Staying steadfast. Being a Christian requires daily effort and learning. Stay strong and remember that God is always with you, along with a supportive community. Christians should never leave one another to struggle alone. Don’t give up before your journey is complete—the victory is still within reach. Don’t give up, because you know that resurrection is the promise at the end.
Always remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
