Luke 21, 29-33

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21, 29-33

Jesus told his disciples a parable.
“Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.
When their buds burst open,
you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;
in the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that the Kingdom of God is near.
Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.”

Everything in its own time

1. See. Learn not just to look but to truly see the details. The fast-paced life you lead can sometimes make you misinterpret things—like confusing a camel for a horse. Therefore, take the time to reflect on the direction your life is heading, remembering that your path goes where you look, where you focus your attention.

2. Time. You must understand that everything happens at the right time. Life itself teaches you that if you rush, you lose, you miss opportunities, and making choices without careful thought can leave you questioning those decisions later, possibly resulting in the lack of purpose. Everything has its own time, and sometimes it’s necessary to know how to wait. The most difficult part of making a life decision is often not the decision itself, but what comes before and after. Taking the time to decide thoughtfully is always the best approach.

3. They will not pass away. God is alive and present in every moment and every place. The grace that God comes to give you is the experience of His presence because we follow a living Christ, not simply a written Christ.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
