Doing the will of the Father

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 7, 21, 24-27

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
And everyone who listens to these words of mine
but does not act on them
will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

Doing the will of the Father

1. Do. You are defined by what you do, not by what you say. At times, we may talk a lot but fail to follow through with meaningful actions. Actions truly speak louder than words—they are lasting and revealing. As Christians, it’s important to recognize when it’s time to act rather than simply speak, especially about matters that don’t concern us directly. Others see us for what we do, not for what we claim to do.

2. Rock. In life, it is crucial to examine what supports you at your core. Your foundation defines you and calls for your commitment. Seek what is truly good for you and let it motivate you to act righteously. Ask Jesus to grant you the wisdom to discover your essence and to act consistently, remembering that what you do is part of your identity.

3. Sand. There are people who live superficially. They’re focused only on appearances or on what others say about them. If you remain at this surface level, life will eventually reveal the instability of such a foundation—people’s opinions are unreliable and ever-changing. One day you may be praised, the next you may be criticized. Remember, your worth is not rooted in others’ views, but in your true essence—being mindful of who you are and who you are not.

Never forget that something good is on the way! God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
