Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 1, 29-34

John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said,
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
He is the one of whom I said,
‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me
because he existed before me.’
I did not know him,
but the reason why I came baptizing with water
was that he might be made known to Israel.”
John testified further, saying,
“I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from heaven
and remain upon him.
I did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain,
he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”

The Lamb of God

  1. Coming toward. Proximity and presence are essential. Avoid creating distance from situations where you’ll eventually need to make decisions about. Pay attention to what needs to be done, and most importantly, remain close to those who need you and those you depend on. Don’t withdraw from others or let your daily routine separate you from the people who matter most in your life. Be mindful of how you spend your time and choose wisely to invest your energy in relationships that genuinely enrich your life.
  2. Understanding. You can’t love what you don’t know. When you get to know someone, they’re no longer a stranger. This leads to the next step: understanding them. Once you know and understand why a person is the way they are, you can move to truly loving them. By accepting them as they are, you can discover how to support them in reaching their fullest potential. The process goes: first know, then understand, and from there, love—so that fulfillment is possible for them.
  3. Giving Witness. Your spiritual life enables you to bear witness to God, and by being a witness, you live within the fire of the Holy Spirit. Safeguard your spirituality and make time for prayer. It’s through your time in the Spirit that you become a true witness of God, not merely someone with knowledge about God.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
