John 14, 27-31a

Peace I leave with you

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14, 27-31a

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
You heard me tell you,
‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’
If you loved me,
you would rejoice that I am going to the Father;
for the Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you this before it happens,
so that when it happens you may believe.
I will no longer speak much with you,
for the ruler of the world is coming.
He has no power over me,
but the world must know that I love the Father
and that I do just as the Father has commanded me.”

Peace I leave with you

1. Don’t let your heart be troubled. With our fast-paced lives, anxiety can easily take over. It’s important to address this today: don’t let worry steal your sense of balance. To overcome this, look for what brings you peace and encourages you to move forward. God is always present in your life, offering support, but He also asks you to contribute—to calmly pursue what you truly desire for yourself.

2. Love. Going back to the Father also means reconnecting with your core values. You shouldn’t always focus solely on continually giving to others; you need to return to yourself and find your own center—the things that define your life and your story. Rediscover what’s essential in your life and honor the commitments you’ve made to yourself.

3. The world. We must contend not only with ourselves but also with temptations that can make us lose sight of our values and purpose. It’s about learning to accept that some things around us don’t contribute positively or that we shouldn’t accept them because they can harm us. Not everything that comes our way is good for us; some things may seem beneficial at first but can lead to suffering down the road.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
