Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16,12-15
Jesus said to his disciples: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.”
The process of our Christian life can be considered in three stages
1) Falling in love. This first stage is when you get to know Jesus and you get hooked on Him. When you fall in love with Jesus, you are attracted to His ways and His words. You dive head first into the things of God. You’re excited about everything and you want to go deeper. You want to take part in more activities within the Church, you want to go out on a mission, you pray often, and you even feel a strong response from God. Never forget this first stage, in which God marks your life strongly. He is the key to your life.
2) Dark Nights. In this stage you loose the vision, and cannot find yourself. You become disappointed; you are upset by things that you see within the Church… that imperfect human aspect which becomes clear to you… I’m not referring only to the Church as an institution but also, to each one of the baptized people who make up the Church. It’s a hard blow and spiritually you can’t find yourself. It is all darkness. You are disenchanted with everyone, including yourself. This is the time to wait, to pray and to speak in confidence. It is the time to be humble and to allow yourself to be guided.
3) Falling in love again. In this stage we see the great inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit rekindles our love… because falling in love again is more difficult than the first time… it implies loving what you already know has difficulties and shortcomings. It is saying “yes” again, in spite of everything. Ask Jesus today to fall in love with Him again. Let’s ask Him for this today. The Holy Spirit blows and wants to touch you with His breeze to make you fall in love with God and his Church once more.
