Luke 11,14-23

Luke 11 14 - 23

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11,14-23

Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed.
Some of them said, “By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.”
Others, to test him, asked him for a sign from heaven.
But he knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house.
And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons.
If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
When a strong man fully armed guards his palace, his possessions are safe.
But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on which he relied and distributes the spoils.
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

The mute spirit

1) Mute demon: We have dealt with this topic many times. It is one of the most frequent temptations the devil puts in our life; muteness, that mixture of foolishness and shyness, that leads you to hide what you feel and what really happens to you. Sooner or later, it affects us all. Learn to speak and express what is happening to you and what you feel. Don’t let the devil make you believe that what you think is worthless nonsense, or that it is better not to say anything. No! Ask God for the gift of prudence in order to say things in the best way, and at the right time.

2) Internal struggles: Conflicts frequently appear in many areas of our lives; at work, among friends, in church, and even in family matters. Nothing is achieved and nothing moves forward when there are conflicts. On the contrary, conflict hinders and destroys. It’s better just stop and relfect… it’s best not to continue. In order to resolve a conflict we need to put the cards on the table and talk. Look for a common resolution, but do not say one thing and do another.Be consistent. And do not contradict yourself, or ridicule others. Ridiculing and making fun of others only hurts and kills, especially in a family.

3) Gather, not scatter: If there is something beautiful in the Church, is the variety of charismas. God enriches the church through these groups. Each one is different, but good in their own way…like the children of a family are each different. We frequently criticize different charismas. Some can’t stand the Opus Dei organization, others don’t like those of Fasta, and there are others who don’t understand the Neos. And so on … in short, God gave the Church various charismas and each one has a mission. None is better than the other, they are simply different. That is why we must work in our area and learn to add …not subtract. Let’s work together! There is much to do!
God bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember heaven is our goal !
