Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 20,11-18

Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb
and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been.
And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.”
When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher.
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'”
Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and what he told her.

Why do you weep?

1) Weeping: in Mary Magdalene we see that person who feels that she has lost everything, that she has no more hope. She is empty-handed and on top of that she was robbed of the one who did not judge her and who gave her dignity. Today there are many people who have tears in their eyes because they have been robbed of their life, their illusions and it is as if they are empty-handed. Today there are many who are crying because someone took away the meaning of life.

2) She did not recognize him: Jesus appears at all times but it is difficult for us to recognize him, like Mary Magdalene. There are times when we do not recognize Jesus but I assure you that He is there. It is only with time and the heart that we will be able to recognize Him. Today, God invites you to have faith because that faith is what can give you back your life and your love for things. The meaning of life is often not recognizable to the eye.

3) Announce: Mary lives this joy and announces it. She recognizes Jesus and this encounter awakens her and makes her a missionary. I think about how many of us have to reencounter Jesus because our Christian life has become a routine. We have become lazy. We don’t go out to proclaim. We don’t put any effort into our pastoral work, we have lost our enthusiasm. We are even a bit uncool when it comes to bringing Jesus to others. Today let us ask to reencounter Him again and proclaim that life is alive.
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And always remember, Heaven is our goal!

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
