Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John Matthew 10,17-22
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts
and scourge you in their synagogues,
and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake
as a witness before them and the pagans.
When they hand you over,
do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.
You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
For it will not be you who speak
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Brother will hand over brother to death,
and the father his child;
children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but whoever endures to the end will be saved.”
St. Stephen
1. Beware of men. It’s true that we might always want to please everyone, but not everyone wants to please us. We may even suffer situations in which people take advantage of our friendliness and even mistake giving ourselves to others for submitting ourselves to them. That’s why I remind you again that you must be careful, be cautious with what you say about your life and what you show about yourself. Remember that giving information about your life to others is giving power to them.
2. Don’t worry. When you lead a life of faith and have clarity, you’ll be able to face everything, knowing that God is always with you, in good times and in bad. Something I also learned is that in the difficult moments of life, when people point at us and judge us, there are few who are there for us. In my case, when I was down and people took turns to kick me with painful comments, many friends disappeared, even priests; but those who appeared, helped me to get up. And you should be loyal to those who help you because they do so from God, they take you to God and remind you of what God wants you for.
3. Will be saved. Don’t give up and don’t feel depressed when people insult you or even want to destroy you with their comments. Persevere in the clarity of your ideas and if there’s peace in your heart, then don’t give up. The difference between hardheaded and persevering people is that the hardheads have no peace in their heart and know that there are things that aren’t right. Persevering people know what they must do and carry it out, and they have peace in their heart.
Never forget that something good is on the way!
God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
