Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 11, 28-30

Jesus said:
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

He carries your burden

1. Come to me. The essence of Christian life is to seek Jesus above all else. Don’t make the mistake of believing that you must look for fame or success – they fade faster than you can imagine. Once Messi was asked why he did not use a Lamborghini, and he said: “because it only has space for two people; my whole family, my children, wouldn’t fit in it”. There are times when in order to show success, or to acquire things, you might neglect your essence. Be careful. Seeking Jesus offers a new perspective of life that leads you to true purpose: the key is seeking Him, not seeking titles or positions within the Church.

2. Afflicted and burdened.  The etymology of “burden” originates from Old English meaning “load, weight, charge”. It refers to laying weight on yourself, which eventually holds you back, making you look downward. Don’t burden yourself with imagined weights, because internal burdens can be even heavier than life’s external challenges. On the other hand, “affliction” is derived from the Latin word “afflictio,” which means “pain, suffering, or torment” referring to inner pain or suffering endured in the pursuit of happiness.

3. Yoke. Jesus doesn’t remove your burdens, but helps you face them and live with purpose. He guides you to carry what is yours and encourages honesty, so you can overcome self-imposed suffering. Jesus aims to support you and relieve you, not add pain, and wants you to find joy in life—not embrace unnecessary hardship. Jesus wants to offer you the opportunity to meet with Him so that you can leave in his hands everything that weighs you down and troubles you. So, put yourself in God’s hands and you’ll find comfort and relief in the God of life.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
