Luke 1, 46-56

They will call me blessed

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 1, 46-56

Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.”

Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months
and then returned to her home.

They will call me blessed

1. Greatness. Over the past year, you’ve surely lived through many wonderful moments, even though there have also been challenges. I invite you to pause and reflect on those enriching experiences that motivate you to keep moving forward and see your life from a new perspective; those things that make you say, “God truly exists.” These are the moments that help you grow and remind you that faith always brings light to your journey. Celebrate those blessings that inspire you to persevere. Cherish the joyful events and memories that have positively shaped your life, filling your heart with happiness and peace.

2. The Proud. The Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise, invites us to be humble, recognizing that everything we have is a result of the Holy Spirit working within us. True humility comes from understanding that everyone faces their own struggles and that we are called to support one another. Don’t let pride convince you that you can handle everything alone. Instead, let’s learn from Mary by asking her to help us trust in God, to be generous with others, and to remember that we all experience highs and lows in life—but God is always present to guide and help us.

3. Mary stayed there for three months. Let nothing and no one tie you down; always offer help, but don’t seek for others to rely on you, just as those who genuinely help you respect your freedom and expect nothing in return.  Service is selfless and brings joy and peace. Therefore, let’s support and help others, but also learn how to step away when the time is right. Everything has its time and place. We need to learn to serve and then move on.

Remember that something good is on the way.

God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
