Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 1, 57-66
When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child
she gave birth to a son.
Her neighbors and relatives heard
that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her,
and they rejoiced with her.
When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child,
they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,
but his mother said in reply,
“No. He will be called John.”
But they answered her,
“There is no one among your relatives who has this name.”
So they made signs, asking his father what he wished him to be called.
He asked for a tablet and wrote, “John is his name,”
and all were amazed.
Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed,
and he spoke blessing God.
Then fear came upon all their neighbors,
and all these matters were discussed
throughout the hill country of Judea.
All who heard these things took them to heart, saying,
“What, then, will this child be?
For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.”
John was born
1. Time. Everything comes in its own time. One of the hardest lessons in life is to realise that every event has its right moment. Don’t let anyone or anything rush your steps or the decisions you make. As the years pass, you gradually make sense of life itself, and it’s your experiences that provide clarity and understanding. Learn to wait, to be patient and recognise that each thing has its season and its process.
2. He will be called. It’s essential to accept the will of God, trusting that everything in this world occurs as He intends. Don’t allow society’s norms and expectations to dictate your path; rather, enjoy living by the virtues God places before you. The situations you encounter will teach you the meaning behind every step you take, and you should act with the awareness that you are fulfilling your true purpose, since each of us has a unique mission in this life.
3. What will this child be? People around us will always observe, comment, and speculate about our lives. For this reason, you and I must be prudent in both our actions and our motives. We must accept that we’ll inevitably be the subject of opinions and comments, but what truly matters is our authenticity and simplicity, knowing that our mission and our actions define us more meaningfully than any outside judgement.
Remember that something good is on the way! God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
