John 6, 35-40

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 6, 35-40

Jesus said to the crowds,
“I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
But I told you that although you have seen me,
you do not believe.
Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

1. Hunger. Everyone goes through times of need, and both you and I have felt lonely or anxious. That’s why it’s important to find comfort in the Eucharist; attending Mass gives you strength and brings the peace you’re searching for. Even if just for a short while, spend some time with the living Christ in the Eucharist. Today, it’ to reconnect with the inner peace the Mass brings, and to learn about each part of it and the tradition behind the ritual. Often, we feel uninterested or confused because we haven’t learned enough, or because we were told to simply attend and not ask questions.

2. Believe. There will always be people who doubt—some because of how they think, some because of their beliefs, and some simply because they like to challenge things. Still, there are always opportunities to grow in understanding and to develop a deeper appreciation for the meaning of the Eucharist. Jesus continues to search for you and waits for you, inviting you to find true life.

3. God’s will. This is the foundation your life should rest on: understanding what God wants for you and discerning your next steps. It’s essential to reflect on where your life is heading and what God wants to accomplish through you. Don’t be afraid or feel unworthy; instead, know that you are loved and cherished, because Jesus never abandons you but always seeks you out.

Remember something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
