Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14,1-6
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
My Home
- Don’t be anxious. Life is a journey that requires us to make decisions. These choices can feel heavy, and it’s normal to be unsettled before deciding. The bigger the decision, the more anxious or troubled you might feel. That’s why Jesus encourages us today: “Do not be troubled.” To help with this, I recommend two things: discern and decide based on your conscience and freedom. Keep in mind that your choices are yours to make; God respects your free will. When you act from genuine freedom and a clear conscience, you can be confident that your decision will be good—perhaps even excellent.
- I am going to prepare a place for you. Jesus promises us something different, something everlasting. Life is more than the daily routine—there is something far greater in store for you. You possess a tremendous inheritance; keep searching for it. I can describe it, but you need to discover it yourself. Seek out what Jesus offers: that eternal peace we all desire. Nothing is more wonderful than living in true peace.
- The Life. In Jesus, we find the way, because He is the path. Don’t stop praying; prayer is your little but essential path to follow. Try to talk with God, and if that seems hard, reflect on His word. Enter into dialogue and open your heart to Him. Don’t hide anything—He already knows everything anyway.
Today we honor St. Joseph. Let us pray for every worker. I offer you this prayer:
St. Joseph the Worker, I pray for employment—may it never be lacking for my family or my friends.
Grant me the grace to always have work in my life, and do not let dependence or waiting on others become my way of life.
Let me enjoy honorable work and learn to find holiness in my daily routine.
Amen.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
