The war within

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 26; 16, 4a

Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
he will testify to me.
And you also testify,
because you have been with me from the beginning.

“I have told you this so that you may not fall away.
They will expel you from the synagogues;
in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you
will think he is offering worship to God.
They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.
I have told you this so that when their hour comes
you may remember that I told you.”

The war within

1. The Advocate. The Holy Spirit inspires and guides us. That’s why it’s so important to continually ask Him to lead you and fill your life. Never stop seeking the Holy Spirit’s help to find peace and the calm your heart longs for. God Himself lives within you to bring you that peace.

2. Setbacks. Difficulties and scandals are a natural part of life, and they can cause us real pain. But remember, God always has the final word. No matter how much these events hurt, trust that God will ultimately decide the outcome.

3. They will think. Gossip and rumors are always present. It’s vital to look within yourself and learn to separate truth from opinion—a key life skill. Are you seeing reality, or just someone’s perspective? If you start to believe that what others say about you is the absolute truth, things can quickly get confusing. Make sure you know the difference between opinion and fact, so you don’t end up accepting someone’s view of you as reality.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
